THE CONDITION
As mentioned, this guitar is in phenomenal condition—only a few years old and never gigged, having been used exclusively for home play.
The previous owner has carefully buffed the gloss finish from the back of the neck, giving a more natural, open‑pore feel. We've found this subtle modification actually enhances the tactile experience and makes the neck exceptionally smooth and comfortable to play.
THE SET UP
As with all our second hand guitars, it's been through the Village Music Guitar Workshop for a fresh set of Elixir 10-46 strings and a full pro set up, to ensure the frets smooth, level and gleaming, the action is low and comfortable and the intonation is accurate!

Reception by Reviewers & Players
At the time, the 2022 model was widely regarded as one of the best Les Paul‑style guitars under £600:
-
Reviewers from Premier Guitar and Guitar Player emphasised that the Alnico pickups delivered a rich, punchy tone reminiscent of classic ’60s Les Pauls.
-
Online players on forums like TheGearPage frequently noted:
"Great feel and tone for the price—definitely more glassy and snappy than earlier Epiphones circa 2015."
"Very playable neck and surprisingly decent fretwork out the box."
Legacy
The 2022 Epiphone Les Paul Classic occupies an important place in Epiphone’s modern line-up:
-
It represented a refined evolution of earlier Les Paul Classic and 50s Classic models, with upgraded pickups and improved finishing.
-
It helped reinforce Epiphone’s strong reputation for reliable, affordable Les Paul copies that don’t feel toy‑like—even compared to some similarly‑priced competitors.
-
By late 2023 and into 2024, it remained a go‑to recommendation for intermediate - semi pro players looking for a classic single‑cut guitar with serious visual and tonal appeal—but without the Gibson price tag.
