2022 Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster
The Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster is a meticulously engineered reissue designed to reproduce the construction, materials, and tonal response of an original early-1960s Telecaster with exceptional accuracy. Built in the USA in September 2022, this instrument reflects Fender’s most historically faithful vintage series to date.
The body is crafted from alder and finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, allowing the wood to resonate freely while aging naturally over time. Paired with a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard, this 1963-correct tonewood combination adds warmth and harmonic depth to the classic Telecaster punch and attack.
The maple neck features an authentic 1963 “C” profile, finished in nitrocellulose lacquer and fitted with 21 vintage tall frets on a 7.25" radius fingerboard, delivering period-correct feel and response. Traditional clay dot inlays, including the narrow 12th-fret spacing, further reinforce the historical accuracy. A bone nut and 25.5" scale length ensure stable intonation and familiar string tension.
Electronics consist of a pair of Pure Vintage ’63 single-coil Telecaster pickups, carefully voiced to replicate early-’60s output and frequency response. These deliver articulate highs, focused midrange, and the unmistakable Telecaster twang with excellent dynamic sensitivity. Controls are vintage-correct with a master volume, master tone, and 3-way blade selector.
Hardware includes a Pure Vintage 3-saddle Telecaster bridge with threaded steel barrel saddles, nickel/chrome hardware, vintage-style single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuners, and a vintage-style butt-adjust truss rod, all contributing to authentic tone transfer and feel.
This guitar is finished in 3-Color Sunburst and is in mint condition, showing no signs of wear. It is supplied with the original vintage-style brown hard case (orange interior) and all original case candy, making it a complete and collector-grade example.
