THE GUITAR
Very good condition (excellent for it's age) 1959 Brunette Hofner Senator - pre trus-trod model - Serial No: 9654.
FEATURING
- Hofner Stamped "Compensator" style tailpiece
- Black timber laminate inlayed headstock facia
- "Clipped" corners headstock
- F hole binding
- Hofner body decal
- Single, Open-back machine heads, no ferrules with white plastic buttons
- Triple Dot fingerboard inlays
- Missing original pick guard and pickup
THE CONDITION
This is easily one of the best examples of a 50s Hofner we’ve ever had the pleasure of playing, It has a beautiful light Brunette burst, the original polish has retained much of it’s lustre - with little to no lacquer checking - no major repair work or modifications, and only a handful of light scrapes and dings.
THE PLAYABILITY
The action measures at a very comfortable 2mm on the bass side and 1.5mm with - no fret buzz, even when strummed with enthusiasm.
THE TONE
It has the bright, percussive tone, full of character, you would expect from a 50s Senator, but with an unexpected warmth and resonance on the bass end that makes you want to keep playing!

The guitar came in on it’s own – no gig bag or case - and due to its age, condition, and fragility we wouldn't consider shipping without protection from a hard case - which we have included in the advertised price.
If you are local to East Kilbride you are more than welcome to collect in-store for £750.
