The Yamaha BB735A is a modern evolution of the long-running Broad Bass design, engineered to deliver professional performance with precise low-frequency control and flexible electronics. Built in Indonesia, this model combines traditional construction principles with contemporary hardware and circuitry tailored for demanding live and studio use.

The body employs a multi-layer alder–maple–alder construction, designed to enhance resonance while tightening low-end response and improving note definition across the extended 5-string range. A 5-piece maple and mahogany bolt-on neck provides increased strength and stability, contributing to consistent sustain and reliable tuning under changing conditions. The rosewood fingerboard offers a smooth playing surface and balanced tonal response.

Electronics are centred around Yamaha’s YGD V7 pickups, voiced specifically for the BB series to deliver a strong fundamental with controlled mids and clear high-end detail. The onboard active/passive preamp allows instant switching between powered EQ shaping and pure passive operation, ensuring flexibility and fail-safe performance.
