Right! Let me tell you, about this Martin D-15M Streetmaster - this guitar is like a seasoned barfly, but with a serious amount of finesse.
First off, it's a Martin. That name alone carries weight, like a Rolls Royce in the world of six-strings. But unlike some of their posh offerings, this StreetMaster is built for getting down and dirty. Solid mahogany throughout, this thing can take a beating. You could busk on the Las Ramblas with this and it'd come out looking more worn-in, not worse for wear. Because, let's be honest, half the appeal here is that distressed finish.
Now, don't be fooled by the roughed-up look. This Martin's got some serious musical muscle. Mahogany gives you a warm, woody tone, perfect for blues, folk, or even some good old-fashioned fingerpicking. It's got a classic dreadnought body, so you'll get plenty of volume to fill the 02, a pub, or a campfire singalong. And let's not forget that legendary Martin playability; the neck feels like silk under your fingers.
So, is this StreetMaster the Holy Grail of acoustics? No. For that, you'll need to loosen your belt a few notches. THE CONDITION
Well aside from the distressed finished the guitar is in as new condition - with no additional bumps or scrapes, or repairs. There has been a significant modification though - but you'll need to read the next section for that...
ELECTRICS
The D-15M comes as a straight acoustic from the factory, but this bad-boy is gig-ready thanks to it's professionally fitted active Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup, with its volume and tone controls stealthily tucked away on the lip of the sound-hole. Don't want a pickup? No problem, the Fishman pickup can be easily removed without leaving any marks or scars.
WHISKEY BARREL STAND
The previous owner was a very handy guy and hand crafted a beautiful custom stand - complete with cork hanger and leather and chain neck brace - for his pride and joy from a whiskey barrel - which is included in the price. (Whiskey sold separately)
SET UP
This saucy little guitart has had it's visit to the Village Music Guitar Spa (workshop) for some gentle TLC: pro set up for correct intonation and comfortable action (2mm on the bass, and 1.5mm on the treble) and a fresh set of Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings to ensure she sounds like an angel on the first strum.
